Case: E-commerce & product configurator
Christiania Bikes – webshop with a custom configurator
Christiania Smedie needed a new webshop where customers can build their cargo bike with the right accessories – directly in the purchase flow. We designed and developed a solution that blends the raw, authentic brand style with a modern e-commerce experience, closely connected to stock and product data.
- Configurator: choose model, equipment and colours – price and availability update in real time.
- Business logic: variants and add-ons controlled by inventory and rules.
- Design & art direction: visual language reflecting the workshop’s heritage – raw, inviting and authentic.
- UX & purchase: streamlined path from inspiration to checkout; microcopy that guides decisions.
- Technology: modern frontend (React/JS), performance-optimised and ready to scale.
Deliverables
- Information architecture, wireframes and UX flows
- Design system and components for products, variants and add-ons
- Custom product configurator with price calculation
- Integration with inventory/variants and e-commerce
- Art direction, imagery and microcopy
Outcome
The webshop makes it easy to select the right bike and accessories—without extra support overhead. The visual direction strengthens the brand and ties the workshop’s story to a contemporary digital experience. The solution is built for growth with new products, campaigns and additional languages when needed.
